A national humanitarian umbrella organization, established in 1998 to work on behalf of the needy in Israel, without regard to sex, religion, creed, race, origin, or nationality.
At its aid centers, the organization extends immediate aid to the needy through distribution of food and clothing, as well as long-term solutions through vocational guidance aimed at helping the needy join the ranks of the employed.
Based on a belief that the future of Israeli society depends on the education of today’s youth, the organization also operates the Ilan Ramon Touching the Horizon Educational Center, where young people with potential and will, though lacking in financial means, receive an education, are empowered, and learn the tools to break the cycle of poverty.

Passover 2008 – The Reality

A million underprivileged children will spend the Seder night hungry.

At the time in which Israel is busily preparing for Passover a national welfare report has recently been published which exposes a particularly bleak reality and reveals the inconceivable number of underprivileged children – one seventh of the population of the State of Israel – who find themselves having to rely on charity to ensure basic survival.
